Why do Women feel so Angry?

I read an article this morning on my way to work and it was like reading something I could have written myself.

I must say I consider myself a very lucky woman. I have 2 gorgeous kids who listen to reason (most of the time) and are full of character. And a very loving and lovely husband who does try to pull his weight around the house.

Yet I find myself feeling angry, and not knowing who or what I'm really angry with.
After reading this article, I am finally able to put a finger on what I have been angry about.
It is the realistion that after being single and only looking after only my own interests for 30yrs, I am now responsible for a family - that it is up to me to make sure that the house is clean and tidy, that the weekly grocery shopping is done, that the kids get fed on time, that the dirty clothes get washed and dried, that the kids get enough one-to-one time with each parent and doesnt feel neglected especially since we both work, that they take their vitamins, that the husband doesnt get neglected, that we still do things as a couple, that holidays get booked, the list goes on...

No wonder even though I go to bed when Moo does at 8pm every night, I still wake up feeling like I have been fighting a battle. Because I have! My mind can't go to sleep. When I get woken up in the mid of the night by Moo asking for milk, I find myself thinking of the clothes which are still left wet in the washing machine which I MUST hang out tomorrow, knowing that it will be a mad rush in the morning to get the kids ready and out the house that I would not have time to do it and in the evening, in what little we have after we pick them up and put them to bed, I have to try to spend some quality time with them, put the washing out and try to unwind from a day's work in order to be able to sleep.

I know we all choose the life we live.
That no one ordered me to go back to work and send the 2 kids to a childminder.
But it is tough.
It is f**king difficult!

Lucy's 3rd Party Preparations

Right!
Preparations for Lucy's 3rd party has started!

Mummy's got the entertainer, she's coming for 2 hours to sing, dance and generally keep the kids happy and merry.
Church hall is booked.
Invites are sent out. 25 kids in total!

A sample of her birthday invite - I got them from ebay and they can be personalised. Very cool I thought!

We went to St Albans market last Sunday and bought some really gorgeous cupcakes from a lady there and she does amazing cakes as well.

So we ordered a 7" birthday cake from her (small 'coz only for Lucy to blow the candles out) and 25 cupcakes individually wrapped so that the kiddos can take them home in their party bags.

If you think the cupcakes look lovely, they taste even better!

Lucy wants to dress up as a ballerina for her party.

For fear of her ruining her ballet costume which she wears to her ballet class, mummy got her a ballerina dress on ebay - only £12!

Not here yet but hope it looks as good as the picture.

Last but not least, the party bags!

Found them on ebay again (as you can see, mummy's a great fan of ebay!)

£2.99 each but they are much better than alot of the common ones you see around.

And the bag's re-useable too!

I swapped the tatto and nail stickers in this bag to a butterfly headband and a wand at no extra charge.

Oh and just ordered the food from Waitrose Entertaining too.

Everything is going well and on schedule!

Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal

Daddy is a BIG Arsenal fan.
And he managed to get a couple of tickets to watch his fav team play at the Emirates Stadium.
He really enjoys going for the matches. Hopefully next time when Boo is older, she can go with Daddy 'coz she is turning out to be a Arsenal fan as well!

We had snow (week of 1 Feb)!

We had the COLDEST winter in the last 20 years!
During the first week of Feb, we had 6 inches of snow in London. 6 inches!! That is like BIG time, major event! In fact, to commemorate the event, all the buses were not running, almost all tubes lines suspended and trains are grounded. Supposedly, its the wrong type of snow... no sorry, right type of snow but too much of it.

Almost all schools are closed and Lesley also decides that for HSSE reasons, she will be closed for 2 days. So Mummy and Daddy are forced to work from home for Mon and Tues.

We did manage to get out when the snow finally stopped and had a good time walking on fresh snow and building snowman in our back garden.

We do like snow, but only for the first 5 min, after that, we just want it gone!

Happy Birthday to Me & Happy Valentine's Day

Today's my birthday and the Warren Family went into Central London!
Yes, all of us, onto the London Underground and into town. A real complishment and actually, quite a joy.

We went to Covent Garden first.
Its very cold again today but sunny ('coz its my BIRTHDAY!)
I look like I'm not wearing alot but I've got 3 pairs of tights on and 4 layers under my jumper coat so I'm warm as a bug.

Boo and Moo are all nicely wrapped up of course!

And so is Daddy!

We have found a solution to the double buggy. Have Boo sit on the canopy of the single buggy!

We went to Plum Valley in Chinatown for dim sum.

I read in reviews that it is one of the best places to have dim sum in London.

Bit expensive but food is really good. Best of all, both kiddos LOVE it!

Boo is wearing her Angelina Ballerina fleece 'coz she went to Ballet Class in the morning before we went out!

Moo's a lot better.
Stopped vomitting since Fri and his diarrhea also seem to have stopped so really thanks be to God and all you lovely people who prayed with us.

Also he got his appetite back, been almost eating normally now. In fact he drank so much milk yesterday we thought he was going to explode!

But poor mummy got the bug on Fri and yesterday was the worst!
I think I spent most of the day in the toilet...

but I'm also feeling better and bit hungry now.

Daddy brought the 2 kiddies to Willows Farm on his own this morning - FIRST TIME!!!
and he is going to bring some nice food back for lunch - yummy.

Hope no one else in the family gets this horrible stomach bug.

Moo's poorly

Moo's got a very bad stomach bug.
He's been throwing up since Sunday night. At first it was really bad, after every feed/drink of water, he will throw up. Now, its a bit better but he still throws up after a large milk feed.
And his nappies are getting quite dry.

Also he's started getting very loose stools yesterday.
It is probably the "winter vomitting" bug that is going round but we are v worried.

We are going to take him to see the doctor this afternoon to check that he is not getting dehydrated.

Please pray with me if you see this that Moo fights this terrible bug off soon.

The poor little mite has lost so much weight already!

Boo's 3rd birthday - what to do?

ok, I think I'm abit crazy, like there are not enough things to worry about and do, I have to start worrying about Boo's 3rd birthday.

She is turning 3 in March - old enough to be excited about her birthday and wanting a party. Which is why I'm thinking of doing a bigger one than the normal "party at Lesley's".

I'm thinking of doing the party on Friday, hiring a church hall near Lesley (so she can take the kids at hers over easily), invite about 20-25 kids (including Boo's classmates at nursery), get in an entertainer for 1-2 hrs (depending on budget) and maybe a bouncy castle (tell me if I'm going overboard anyone?)

Think a good time for the party will be about 3.30-6pm (so parents can come pick the kids up from party instead of from Lesley). Tea will be provided which will be party food like hotdogs, pizza, sandwiches (with healthy snacks like carrot sticks, fruit as well - don't want to be accused of feeding kids junk!).

Boo told me she wants a Ballet cake this time. I don't know if she really means it or will a nice enough cake do. Waitrose doesnt do ballet cakes (sob!) so I was looking on the net and the cheapest I can find is one which is a pair of ballet slippers for £68!!!

anyway, which one of the cakes above do you think are nice?

I think I like the second castle one best - 'coz it's the cheapest at £40! HAHAHA!!

The Warren family decided that what better way to welcome in the (freezing) cold new year but to go to our FAV zoo, Whipsnade.
I'm not kidding, it really is freezing - its -3 degrees!

The zoo is one where you can drive the car in. Thank goodness Moo fell asleep on the way there so mummy used that as an excuse to stay in the car with him while Daddy brave the cold with Boo.
But Moo woke up when Boo and Daddy was away looking at the lions, cheetah and giraffes so mummy has no choice but to put coat on him and take him out.
Daddy and Boo came back very happy - Boo was really cold but enjoyed herself loads. Too bad all the animals were all in their shelter 'coz it was freezing cold!!

Anyway, the next stop was the elephants and mummy thought since we came all the way here, must take some photos.

Moo has 2 long-sleeved body suits, a T-shirt, a jumper and a coat.

Boo has 2 long-sleeved T-shirts, a dress, leggings and pair of tights, a cardigan and a coat.

In the end, even Daddy surrendered and said it was too cold so we retreated to the nice warm car and have our picnic

What to do?

Alright, been staying up looking for flights and hotels for our trip back to Singapore during Easter.

Our options:
1. Fly by Emirates - total cost for 4 seats = £1,500. BUT hotel stay in Dubai will cost about £500 per night (!!!)
2. Fly by Singapore Airlines - total cost for 4 seats = £2,300. BUT 13 hours straight - can we survive with the 2 monsters (??!!??!)

Please someone tell us what to do?

(I know, I know... its my fault for marrying so far away!)

My New Year Resolutions

Christmas in the Warren household

Christmas!
Finally the pressies are all bought and wrapped. The bags are all packed and the kids dressed.
The Warren family are going up to Moulton on Christmas Eve to spend Christmas with Grandma, Uncle Peter and Auntie Sam.

The car just couldnt take any more toys so when we got to Grandma's, we let the kids open the pressies that were given to them by other people (i.e. not from Santa, wink wink).
Isabel's mummy got Boo a pair of fairy wings and Boo loves them!
Look how pretty she looks next to Grandma.

A cheers on Christmas Eve... the mince pies are left next to the chimney for Father Christmas and we sprinkled the reindeer food out in the garden. Hope Father Christmas will come and bring Boo and Moo their toys!

Off to see Santa (at Willows Farm) - 20 Dec

The last weekend before Chritmas! Finally the whole Warren fam are all free from flu and ready for some Xmas cheer. So we decided what better than to go see Santa at his grotto!
Boo has actually seen Father Christmas 4 times already so plus this time it will be 5 - Lucky girl!
We decided that the Santa Grotto at Willows Farm is the best choice - close-by, free (except for Boo 'coz she will be getting a pressie from Santa), and they have a great in-door playcentre.

We went about 10am but there were already lots and lots of cars there. So Daddy was getting bit grumpy 'coz he thought there will be a long queue. But surprisingly, the queue wasn't half as bad. They have a lovely winter wonderland, so we were able to take some photos and look at the decorations while waiting.

Slightly grumpy Daddy - 'coz he's cold! And he's the native!! What about me??!!?? I'm not used to this silly cold weather! Singapore is hot all the time!

I realised most of the photos in the blog are Boo's so I'm making a big effort to take more of Moo's now!

It is a really good Santa grotto!

Santa was very friendly and took time to speak to Boo and ask her what she would like for Xmas - and she gave her whole list!!

And we has some great photos (taken by their photographer of course) with Santa.

Most importantly, we got to choose our own gift from the toy warehouse - Boo picked a PINK fluffy bag with ballet slippers on it.

Overall, a very good experience! Will go again next year!

Next we went to the in-door playcentre at the Farm 'coz it's too cold outside!

I really like the jumper Moo has on - it has an orange monster on it with headphones on and it says - Not Listening. Daddy says it looks like Moo and from now on, he's going to call Moo, Fungy (why I don't know??!!??)

Stayed up last night just to wrap all the pressies for the kids at Lesley in advance of their Christmas party tomorrow - soooo tired!

Father Xmas came to Boo's school today

Father Christmas is coming to Boo's nursery today!

Mummy managed to pull a WFH (Work from Home) day so that she can take her precious princess Boo to school to meet Father Christmas. And Mummy's really glad I did it coz Boo really enjoyed herself. I think this is the only Santa that she thinks is lovely and not scared of at all. When Santa called her name for her turn to get her pressie, I thought she wouldn't get up but she did and walked all the way from the back to the front to get her pressie which she promptly opened.

Before Santa came, the kids all sat in a circle and sang Carols for the mummies and daddies who came. Boo mostly just sat and pulled funny faces at me.

Oh and stole my mince pie to eat somemore!

What A Week!

What a horrible week we had last week!
All 4 of us were sick! not just a little cough and cold thingy, but a full-blown high fever, aches in body, shivering, crying flu!!!

It all started with Boo on the Sat. And it was the first weekend we had in ages that was sunny! She woke up streaming from her eyes and nose - poor little mite!
By Monday afternoon, Daddy's got it!
And by Wed, both Moo and me were down.

Daddy and Boo got better first, but Moo and me are still suffering now - poor Moo keeps coughing and choking in his sleep 'coz the mucus is really thick! Really breaks my heart!

I can only hope that at least that's us done for the year... no more!!
And now we can all look forward to a GREAT Xmas!

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

Woke up really excited today... we are going to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland!!

Boo was v happy but a bit concerned that Moo is not coming with us. Told her its ok, he's still too young and we can get him a pressie when we are there.

Today is super cold - 3 degrees, so I wrapped both of us up really well. Boo had 3 t-shirts, a jumper and a winter coat on, and a hat and originally a scarf but we thought it was abit over-doing it so scarf came off at the bus stop.

On the train there - bought us a piece of cake at the coffee place at station.

We were v lucky, saw the guards on horses going towards Buckingham Palace for the changing of guards ceremony when we were walking towards Hyde Park. Mummy quickly took a pic.

Boo all nice and cosy in our new pushchair - the Micralite Toro (reviews another time)

Finally we are at the Winter Wonderland!

Christmas is in the air...

ALREADY!!!!
how time flies. Can't believe 2008 is almost going to be over.

Last weekend, the warren family finally did something Xmas-ish.
On Sat, we went to the Christmas Fair at St Marys Primary at East Barnet Village. It was really sweet. They had tombola stalls, chocolate wishing well, some stalls selling toys and Xmas stuff, and a Santa Grotto.
We let Boo and Moo have 2 goes on the tombola each, they got some Xmas craft stuff which we intend to do during the Xmas break (I know, it will be too late but it will keep them busy), Daddy bought 15 tokens for the drink tombola but didn't win any wine, only got a bottle of orange squash, Boo has 3 goes on the chocolate wishing well and got 3 pieces of chocolates but only allowed one 'coz her cough was still not 100% better and we avoided the Santa Grotto at all means 'coz the queue was too long!

We then went home and Anne and Geoff came over for a visit. Moo really took to Anne and immediately wanted to go to her right at the door, which is very unusual 'coz he is quite wary of strangers. And the kids got Xmas pressies from them naturally but Daddy immediately hid them so no one gets too excited.

On Sunday, it was pouring!! So we went to Watford for shopping. I was hopeful that we will be able to get some Xmas pressies for our friends and family but of course, it never happens. They were having a free Santa Grotto there and the queue wasnt long so we went and stood in the queue. Boo wasnt very keen on Santa, she later told me she found Santa a bit scary! Daddy also thinks that particular Santa was a bit pants but both kids got a book each and surprisingly, Moo really took an interest to the book and kept opening it and flipping the pages.

I'm at work now (been on conference call since 8am this morning so I'm a little dazed to say the least!). But tomorrow, I'm taking the day off.

I survived!!
the first day of work that is...

It wasn't that bad actually. Feels really good to be back in the thick of things and to confirm that my brain still works and is still capable of analysing more things than baby, cooking and playgroups!! LOL

But I did took Tues off to spend time with the children and I'm off today as well... went shopping in London (naughty naughty)

Next week, I'll be into my 4 days week, but I will need to change my day off 'coz boss wants me to go with him to a meeting on Tues.
See, its all happening and very exciting!!

Moo is all settled in at Lesley's. He even takes 1 1/2hr naps in the cot!!!!! I know!!!!
But this morning Boo told me that there are 2 naughty girls in her nursery who dont want to talk to her and push her.
I wanted to take her to school today to find out what happened, but AM said better to let Lesley talk to the teachers 'coz I wont be able to go everytime there is a problem. So I went with AM to drop the kids off this morning and spoke to Lesley.
She was so cross when she heard someone might be bullying Boo (awww bless her).
But 'coz she has to do school run, Carina walked Boo to school. Lesley said Carina was even more cross when she heard some kids are picking on Boo... she told Lesley, "this is our kid, if anyone dares bully her, we will use violence if necessary!!" I really like that Carina!!

Anyway, Carina spoke to Pauline and Pauline was v good abt it and said she will keep a close eye on Boo and make sure nothing of that sort happens again. I think it might be the Monday kids 'coz Boo just started going to nursery on Mondays this week and I've seen the Thurs and Fri kids, they are all very sweet and well behaved.

Fingers crossed nothing happen today and ever again.

Tomorrow is NOT happening!

Halloween at Lesley's

Ok, did I say I'm poorly? I'm poorly, poorly, poorly! Made worse by going to... not one but 2 Halloween parties yesterday!! Ok, I know its my fault, no one made me go but I do want Boo and Moo to enjoy themselves.

So, this is Lesley's party. IMO, its the better one. All the kids know each other so they were all laughing, dancing and having fun. No smoke machine (thank god!).
Moogie didn't want to sit with the others at the table for the party coz he wanted to sit with mummy. Lesley dressed him up as the incy wincy spider-boy - BRILLANT!

Halloween!!!

Today is Haaaalllooweeen!!! oooohhh!!!
Mummy's actually sick with fever and sore throat but because I promised my little princess Boo that I will take her to the Halloween party... no choice, take panadol and GO!

(Poor Moo is at Lesley's today... but he get to have a party later coz Lesley is having one at hers - which we are going as well!!)

Here's Boo getting ready to go out in her Cat Fairy costume (which I got from Sainsbury. Not much choices in her size, its either this or Frankenstein... and I don't think she will appreciate being a Frankenstein)

We left the party early 'coz it got too noisy and smoky (they were playing smoke machine 'coz of the disco). Went for lunch at nearby cafe. I had spagetti carbonara which Boo shared. And when we were paying, the nice lady at the cashier gave Lucy her first sweety of the day - a purple lollipop!

We came home and she went straight to bed for her nap (good girl).

Later we will go to our 2nd party at Lesley!!

My name is Lynn and I'm going back to work on 1 Nov!
There, I've said it!
I know that day is going to come soon but I still can't believe how fast!

And I thought it will be easier 'coz its my second time and since I've done it with Boo, I should be a real pro at it now. No!!! its worse this time. I think I might even be stressed and depressed about it!

Hands up those who heard me go... I cant wait to get back to work, it will be much easier than taking care of 2 kids... But now I've figured how how to do it, and they are at such a lovely age, Moo is crawling and playing and giggling, and Boo is so bright! (a sidetrack, this morning when we drop them off at Lesley's, she saw a piece of plastic on the floor and asked me what it was, I said it was a part of the car which has fallen off. So she went in and solemnly told Lesley "Lesley, my daddy's car is very old, it is falling apart!" while shaking her head!! We were in fits when we heard that, except smelly AM of course who was protesting "My car is not that old!!")

Moo has done v well at Lesley today though. Only cried for 10min after we left and then played happily rest of time. Tmr will be his 1st full day!!! Hope it all goes well...

Oh, one last time. Moo and I went for our second slingmeet this afternoon at Coffee and Tease. Had lots of fun! Really good to see so many different slings! Hope I would be able to still meet up once a while for slingmeets even when I'm back at work!

I cant believe how fast time flies...

We went up to my MIL on Sat to kick-start the celebrations. I think we bought him too many pressies *oops*
Moo had his family party on Sun with a winnie and tigger cake specially bought by Grandma *thank you Grandma!* Uncle Peter came down in time for the party.

Boo did the blowing out of candles on Moo's behalf coz Moo still dont get that fire on candle can be HOT! He tried to eat the candle after it was blown out and got a shock!

I have some sad news to share...
my friend Louise's baby girl amberleigh has passed away yesterday morning - she was only about a week old.

I only know Lou for a while, we met in the library one day when I took Moo there. She came in with Kitty and Alfie and her bump. Kitty is a really pretty 4yr old who is abt to start primary school so v excited. Alfie is really cheeky and a real climber!

We started talking and Lou must be one of the chillest mum I've met. I really like her so offered to give her my double buggy which I'm not using.

I was so looking forward to meeting Amberleigh but just on Mon, I got a text from Lou saying she is rushing baby Amberleigh to a specialist heart hospital and it was touch and go. I prayed really hard for my new friend but received the terrible news last evening.
Baby Amberleigh passed away after putting on a brave fight. She did hold on to see her daddy who rushed back from South Africa.

Words cannot express the sadness and pain Lou must be feeling now. My heart goes out to her and her family. I hope all of you who read this will join me in prayer.

Lots and lots happened!!

OK, I'm rubbish at blogging... I keep meaning to update but keep forgetting.

And now we are in Oct already!!!

Well firstly, share the good news... Lulu aka Boo is now dry (in the day). Very proud of her coz she knows how to ask to go to toilet amd when out, can even use the big toilet.

So now that her nappies are no use, she has created a new use for it.... as a hat!! haha! that's my girl.

Secondly, we are now officially in winter! Ok, autumn but its so cold and grey it might as well be winter *sigh*

But we did make full use of our last few "summer-ish" days.

Went out with Stuart and Belle and their lovely kids, Isabella and Jake (Jake is 1 and walking!!!) to Aldenham Country Park - very nice. Moo tried the swing for first time (doesnt he look cute in his bandana? )

Then went to Whipsnade Zoo and see the animals. Took the steam train round which Boo really enjoyed.

And of course, Boo had her fill of ice-cream... no more until next summer!!

Thirdly, lots of new babies born in Sep!!

My next door neighbours had baby Ben on 19 Sep, Pinkie had gorgeous baby Kayley on 20 Sep, Louise had baby amberleigh on 29 Sep and Valerie had baby Natelie on 30 Sep!!!

Welcome to all the babies and big kisses and cuddles to the mummies - well done!

Lastly, Boo started nursey on 11 Sep at Little Acorns. She now goes there twice a week from 9.15am to 12.15am. Moo and I stayed with her for first 2 weeks but now she's happily going there on her own - I have to chase her for a good-bye kiss!

Moo also started with Lesley (my childminder) this week. I'm going back to work on 1 Nov so have to get him settled there. He did brillantly - ate all his food, played with all the children. Boo wasnt of much help though, Lesley said when Moo cried, Boo just pat his head in a patronising manner and said "oh baby, dont cry" and rolled her eyes! She is getting quite an attitude, that madam!

St Ives:
My fav place in Cornwall! Really pretty, very artistic feel. Lovely port and a white sandy beach too. Only took us about an hour to reach - yes, daddy, you are THE man. We had delicious cornish pasties for lunch at the windiest spot, Boo enjoyed her sausage roll and Moo shared my pasty.

Fowey:
Bit of trek to get to from the carpark - lots of steep steps! Nice place but bit small. Didnt like the fact that there are always cars trying to run us down as we walk along the streets (streets are really narrow with no pavement). Had a great meal in a posh seafood restaurant but I ended up on the floor playing with Moo - not a good look. Moo and I took the bus back up to carpark while smelly AM took Boo in pushchair and walked up.

Looe:

I like this place. Nice port, a beach. Had lunch in a quiet cafe so Boo and Moo made all the noise they wanted - which was none coz there's no one to disturb!! We realised, the posher the place, the more noise they make.

o and we realised that when we get an ice cream cone for Boo, we must now get one for Moo or else he will flip! Check out his chocy face after eating his cone.

Cornwall - verdict's still out

We are back from Cornwall, to be exact, Port Isaac.

Do we like it? Well... I really like Port Isaac, very lovely fishing village, quaint shops, small fishing boats in the harbour, GORGEOUS cornish pasties. But the weather was unforgivable. It really poured first day we were there. To the extent that smelly AM wanted to go home! But it did get better as week go by. If I can get Cornwall with sunshine, I would LOVE that place

Still if you ask me, I would rather go to Menorca any day (hee hee...)

We stayed at a lovely house in Port Isaac called Anvia. Its on the top of the hill so had fantastic views.

Went to Padstow on 31 Aug (Sun). Was pleasantly surprised. A very pretty place with trendy shops. Rained a bit but got sunny for a bit too. Overall, very happy 'coz we were out and about at half past 6 on a sunday which we will never get to do when we are back at home!

More tomorrow, have to go and put the kiddos to bed now.

I really struggled with 2 kids at first and plus we are not sleeping together (I sleep with Moo and he sleeps with Boo). Used to row everyday and plus he was not v pleased with his career progression then.

Thankfully none so far!!

hmm... i know when, when he got really drunk when Boo was only 6 weeks old and did something in the dining room (which i cannot say to save his face!)

Yipee, we are going to cornwall for a week!
but havent finished packing.... panic!

o got my red driving licence in the post today. have to drive on holiday or would forget how to!!
going to claim insurance for my accident. only pay excess of £350. smelly AM v nice abt whole thing - I love you honey!

Boo a v good girl today. Moo still cries when i leave the room. Both enjoyed music class.

Teddies bear picnic at Willows Farm this evening but we probably giving it a miss - need to pack.
we missed jake's birthday so have to give him loads of kisses and cuddles when we meet up with belle, stuart, isabella and jake when we come back from hols.

Post holiday Blues...

hmmm.... so it's true, there is such a thing as post holiday blues!
woke up feeling disoriented and a bit sad. really wish we are still in menorca in the wonderful sun and the lovely villa.

nope, we are back in grey bleak london! in a messy tiny house. i think only moo cow is happy to be back... when we put him in his own walker yesterday, he was so happy, swooming around and pulling the plant and opening his drawers. That little fella loves his home.

i really wonder why we choose to live here. its the summer for %#$£ sake. yet its only 17 degrees and grey.

o to make matters worse, the lady whose car i knocked sent us the quote for the repairs... wait for it £1200!!!!!!!! Smelly AM says we might claim insurance after all. but lady was v nice, she told us to think abt it, no rush.

we went to the park today, but it was really difficult getting both ready. moo kept crying when i walk out of room. boo kept standing at front door asking "can we go now?" and then refused to wear her shoes. in the end, i lost it and shouted at them... made boo cry but moo found it funny. so i hugged boo and said sorry and was thankfully forgiven.
we still managed to have a good time at the park... boo ran around, went on swings and roundabout and then we went to cafe for bouncy castle and lunch.
came back all chilled and mellow.

after all we are going for another holiday on Sat, this time to Port Isaac in Cornwall!!! hee hee hee...

We are back from Menorca!!
what a WONDERFUL place. The weather is so sunny, the island is so laid-back, the beaches so beautiful and the villa really BIG!

Boo and Moo had a fantastic time. Boo was a really good girl on the flights there and back. Smelly AM and I thought it will be v difficult to get both of them on the plane but it was actually quite alright. We had lots of colouring books and toys ready for Boo and I carried Moo in my Connecta. In the end, both ended up sleeping most of the flight (only 2 hours).

We went to the beach twice. First time to Son Bou (very long beach, lots of space)

and second time to Cala en Porter. I like Cala en Porter more, it more shallow so Boo was able to walk quite far out into the sea and she was so cute, with her little swimming armbands on and her matching strawberry hat and swim suit. Moo was a bit scared of the water, coz it was really cold! but he was in my solarveil OMT so very snug and happy.

We went to Mao harbour for dinner one night, to Fornells for lunch once. I like Fornells, beautiful port but so hot during the day, too hot to walk around.

The rest of the time, we spent lazing around in the villa and swimming in the pool.
Really lovely time, We are definitely going back SOON!!

Very sad today, first time i took boo and moo out and even before start journey, reversed into a parked car while coming out of driveway!!!

so suay! now must pay for other party's damage coz we dont want to lose no claim bonus... some more boo was going "silly mummy, bump into car!"

but i still manage to drive them to supermarket and later for Boo's haircut, so i think, not that much of a failure.
now a bit scared to park and reverse out... MUST overcome fear!!

dont talk abt this... lets talk abt our holiday tomorrow!, first time moo is going on a plane... so exciting.

Horrible grey day... London weather is the worst!!! i sometimes wonder why we are still staying here?

anyway, second day home since hospital... Boo2 is doing well, feeding well and sleeping well. Boo is her usual cheeky self and best of all, my parents are coming!! they will be landing in UK from Dubai at 1135 and smelly AM is going to take Boo to pick them up... excited!

oh and pinky is coming over to see her new god-son too... lots of visitors...

Emirates flight landed at 1107, waited for my mum to call me on phone... told them that smelly AM will only go pick them up when we get call from her... waited till 1140 and still no call, so started calling them... then finally my dad called our home phone... they have already cleared immigrations and now at luggage!!! so quickly chased smelly AM and Boo out of house to pick them up from Heathrow...

Pinky called at 12ish to say she's already left Marlow and on way to London... will be really good to see her...

Smelly AM and Boo came back with my parents at half one... Boo looking quite curious but won't go to my parents... my mum said she was staring at them with her BIG eyes whole time...

my parents were v excited to see Boo2 but i told them, they have to ask Boo for permission first before carrying Boo2... which Boo really liked... made her feel v impt! Boo also warmed up to my parents v soon... and before the day is over, she knows them as Gong-gong and Ma-ma...

but (no) thanks to the London Transport system, pinky couldnt manage to come to our place... she found herself stuck at Finsbury Park!!! all the way from Singapore and let down by London trains!!!! can't believe it!!! told her we will try to meet her in Reading during the week for lunch and will bring the kids... *sigh* really looking forward to seeing her!!!

Boo2's arrival (20 Oct-07 7.41pm)

7am: woke up in panic... late!! have to get Boo to childminder. She offered to look after Boo for whole weekend while we go into hospital to have no.2 (so sweet of her!!) Boo thought we going out... but is quite happy to go to her childminder as well... and even kissed me goodbye!

8am: Managed to get onto the train and tube on time!! Smelly AM was carrying 2 bags and the car seat and i'm waddling along... people looked at us wondering what these 2 people doing, so early in the morning??!! Very excited...

9am: At the Portland hospital... is assigned to midwife Joan Pryce who told us she got to make the first choice of room today and she chose the one with the balcony and best view so we are the lucky couple who got to enjoy it!! lovely room with lots of sunlight coming in... today is looking to be a nice sunny day! Now waiting impatiently for my Obs to come..

9.30am: Obs came in, looking as chic as ever... gave us both kisses and say "let's get the show on the way!" Did an internal exam, cervix is soft and abt 1cm dilated, but still long. So she gave me the tablet to dissolve under the tongue. She says the tablet should trigger off the labour contractions and water bag may/may not burst on its own... but best is to let it work for a while and go for a walk... Very happy 'coz can finally get to eat breaky... by then was STARVING!!!went out with smelly AM for breaky... went to Villalaundry down the road... posh deli/restaurant... and had FULL english breakfast! i deserve it! Then we walked all the way down Great Portland Street to Oxford Street. Slowly and having a great chat along the way which was really v nice. Smelly AM went into Urban Outfitters to shop around while i went to Miss Selfridges...By then, beginning to get quite strong tightenings... not really contractions yet but when they come, must stop walking to catch breathe. Happy that the tablet is working! but water bag still intact. On way back, stopped at ladbrokes to make a £10 bet on football match... Arsenal to win Bolten by 2-1... hoping that Boo no.2 will be the lucky pig and bring us winnings!!popped into a convenient shop to get magazines and crisps and i picked up a £10 note on the floor!!! Boo no.2 is lucky already!!

12.30pm: Back in hospital delivery suite. Joan put me on the monitor to measure the contractions and baby's heartbeat... baby doing well, my contractions are still more like tightenings... waiting for Obs to come back to check me out.1.30pm: Off the monitors and doing my yoga poses... to try to get baby to move into position and to encourage progress of labour. then got onto the birthing ball 'coz getting tired... Obs came in at close to 2pm. Did another internal and found that i'm still about 2cm dilated but cervix is now flat. She says, she's only to burst my waters now and then put me on the drip to progress the labour. Suggested to me that i take epidural now. I wanted to put off having epi this time but after listening to Obs and smelly AM, decided to have epi.

2.15pm: Waters is burst!! so much water, the bed was soaked!! Obs panicked a bit 'coz she thot she felt the cord coming out... but then she says the cord has slipped back in. So she told me to stay on bed to be monitored for an hr to make sure baby is ok... she says it means the cord is v close to baby's head and might be over it...So stayed in bed and contractions started proper... thank goodness baby's heartbeat strong throughout...

3.15pm: Had the epi jab in back and then Joan started me on the drip... had to have blood pressure taken every 5min 'coz of epi and be monitored again so still stuck on bed!!4pm: Finally taken off monitors and allowed to walk around... went to toilet and went on birthing ball and listened to meditation CD... contractions are stronger but not painful at all, only feel pressure, thanks to epi! Obs came back and check me out... ooohhh almost 8cm dilated... told to increase strength of drip... mobile epi not enough to take the pain away so asked for stronger dose... stronger epi made legs really weak... cannot stand anymore... was told to go to toilet again but cannot walk so Joan rolled me there on birth ball... v funny!

5pm: Obs checked and say i'm almost fully dilated. But baby is still quite high... so she told me to lie on my left side, flat, so encourage baby to move down... by then pressure to push is very strong!!6ishpm: Obs did another internal... baby is sort of downish... and need to push v strong so she say we can try pushing... she went out to change into the hospital gear... came back and had me holding my legs and trying to push...oohhh!!! pushing part is the WORST!! pressure is strong but quite tired already so not much strength to push...and everytime i push, and can see abit of baby's head, i lose breathe and strength and baby went back in...after 1/2hr or so, Obs says baby not liking the pushing and position so changed back into lying flat on left side with one leg inthe air!pushed and pushed again... but still head cannot come out 'coz perineum is too thick... Obs say, sorry, have to give me a cut... by then i was in the zone!! i will agree to anything to get the process over with... i was holding smelly AM's hand over my face and screaming tat i want boo!!obs gave me a cut and then when next contraction came, pushed again and this time... BABY CAME OUT!!! it was such an incredible feeling and then obs put Boo no.2 on my chest... he came out screaming and crying and looking pink... and sooo cute (but slimy ) i put him on my chest and he quickly found the nipple and started suckling!!Obs stitched me up and then gave us big hugs and kisses... Joan told baby to be checked out and then gave him back... he is sooo lovely!!

First day back from hospital

So good to be home!!

We had to rush back to hospital with Boo2 on Thurs afternoon 'coz the blood test results came back saying that Boo2 has jaundice!! We were hoping to give that a miss this time after what happened to Boo last time (she had to be kept in hospital for 1 week after birth 'coz of jaundice) but looks like we have no choice.

Midwife said, we can either go to Portland or go to the nearest NHS one. Smelly AM and i decided that going to the nearest NHS one will be better 'coz easier for him to come visit us... so we rushed in to hospital and left Boo with smelly AM's mum (thank goodness she's came down to see us).

in the hospital PAU, the doc took blood from Boo2's hand... i can't bear to watch!!! so stepped outside but started crying when heard Boo2 crying... blood test results came back saying Boo2's level is 286 and so need phototherapy for at least 1 day... so have to stay in the hospital.

lovely nurse came back with blue light and we took off Boo2 clothes and put him naked in the cot under the light and he HATED it!!! i think it's too cold and also he's not used to not being swaddled and didn't know what to do with his arms... anyway, he scratched himself silly and i couldn't take it anymore so took him in my arms and place the light over both of us! nurse came back and said, it is not good for me to be under the light as well but i could figure out, why is it ok for baby to be under it but not for me??!!?? anyway, noway am i putting Boo2 back in the cot and letting him cry so we stayed under the light together.

finally managed to get a bed in the ward at 8pm and was moved there... not much changed except much noisier. There were 5 beds and there were all occupied. We stayed under the light until i couldn't bear the tiredness anymore... there must be a better way of doing things so i made a little bed for Boo2 on the big bed and lie him down next to me with light over us... it was difficult to sleep with the bright light over us but i was too tired to care!

at 2am, doc came in to take blood for tests... results back, level has come down but still above the treatment line so more hours under light..

managed to sleep on-off until 6am... which was very good... Boo2 being a really good boy... he fed well and slept when not feeding... doc came in and did another heel prick blood test... yipee!!! Boo2 level is now slightly below the treatment line... Well done!!! but still need to stay under the light for another 6 hrs to be sure...

smelly AM came to visit us at 9am after sending Boo to childminder... thank goodness for LJC, she is a god-send!! smelly AM told me the bad news... our front door handle has decided to die on us so we cannot lock the door from outside!!! again, thank goodness for Mum being there... if not he couldn't leave the house at all! you see, it never rains, it pours!! but V will come round later to sort things out... again, thank goodness for V being just down the road... *note to self: important to find a builder as a neighbour!*

during the day it's easier to leave Boo2 in the cot under the light on his own... he seems to like being left on his own during the day but not at night... hmmm... baby with his own character!!

Hospital PD consultant came in to check on Boo2... he said that Boo2 is doing well and if the next reading is below the line then we can turn the lights off and see if his level still stays below the line... if so, HOME SWEET HOME!!!

doc took blood for test at 1.30pm... results... BELOW the line!! yipee!! my little boy is doing well! lights are off... Boo2 is feeding well and sleeping on his own in the cot so smelly AM left us and i took a nap...

when woke up from nap, realised that most of the other patients have gone home! hmm... i hope we get to go home too or else it will be only me and Boo2 left that night in the whole ward!!!

doc came in to take blood again at 7pm... really praying that Boo2 is still doing well... he's been sleeping alot this afternoon... results: YAY YAY YAY!!! level went down even with lights off... we can go home... immediately called smelly AM... and he came in 10min to pick us up...

really miss home and REALLY REALLY miss Boo... but she's already sleeping by the time we reached home... with her little butt in the air!! so cute!
